Five cheques issued by Parr's Bank Ltd and used by the "Guardians of the Poor of the Hinckley Union" in 1911 and 1913.
The cheques state that Parr's Bank also incorporates Pare's Leicestershire Banking Co Ltd.
The cheques are headed Hinckley Union and are payable to a variety of people, presumably suppliers to the Poor Law Union.
They are 210 x 150mm in size and are endorsed on the back by the payee. They are also stamped as being paid. There is some marking and creasing around the edges but this is not surprising as they have been stored away for over 100 years
These are interesting items of banking ephemera, nearly 100 years old, from a bank that no longer exists. Ideal for including in scrapbooks, decoupage or other projects. I will send a random selection of five used cheques.
Please note. I do my best to accurately photograph and describe the condition of the items for sale, including any minor defects, but all pieces are vintage and have had previous lives and so may have minor flaws.
