This vintage iron is a classic design item and is very typical of the streamlining style that was popular at the time.
The Smoothie iron was made from the 1920's to the early 1950's and I think these are earlier models. Size is 110mm long, 50mm wide and 60mm high.
Made by Lucas Holder Ltd of Coventry, they still have the lead and would have been plugged into the light socket. They took a very cavalier attitude with electrical appliances in those days.
I have 2 irons in stock at the moment, one is still in the original box. The unboxed iron is probably the older of the 2 as it does not have the plastic 'heel' section which seems to be an addition in later designs.
Both are in good condition but are sold as collectable items only and are NOT to be used unless checked beforehand by a qualified electrician.
