This unusual item is a face massager and was intended for use by ladies to get rid of their wrinkles and give them a smooth skin. It could be described as a forerunner to Botox. Unfortunately I cannot guarantee that this will actually rid you of all your lines.
Made in Germany it has 2 soft rubber rollers on a lovely orange coloured phenolic handle. Not sure how old it is but I would imagine it was made in the 1920's or 30's. On the back of the handle it has Face Punkt and on the inside of the lid of the box it says Gesichts Punct Roller. The width across the rollers is 65mm and from top to bottom 120mm.
This does seem to be a refinement of the much larger rolling pin sized massagers that were popular from Victorian times up to the 20's or 30's. These larger models were marketed as a slimming aid and were "guaranteed to make you thinner".
It is in very good condition and still has the original box which is lined with purple flock and satin. I would imagine that this was a very expensive item when it was first sold.
