Two bags advertising record shops in Northampton.
One is for Gilbert Whitlock and the other for John Lever.
The Gilbert Whitlock bag is made of heavy paper with reinforced handles, 28 x 26cm and obviously designed to carry the old 78's. The back is blank. A bit grubby with creases on the corners and some pencil markings.
The John Lever bag is made of a thin paper, 27 x 25cm, again intended for old 78's. This bag is printed on both sides. There is damage to this bag, a split down 1 side, damage to the top and some creasing.
There is nothing to give a date but looking at the designs etc I would think that the Whitlock bag is from the 1940's and the Lever bag is from the 1950's.
Both are great memorabilia from the days when all music was bought from record shops.
The price is for both bags.
Please note. I do my best to accurately photograph and describe the condition of the items for sale, including any minor defects but all pieces are vintage and have had previous lives and so may have minor flaws.
