This tin was issued by the Barnsley British Co-operative Society Ltd to celebrate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953.
On the lid it has the Co-op Society name and the presentation details and on the front a picture of Mr H Wilde JP, President. The side panels have details of the Society and on the back is a picture of Windsor Castle.
Approx 115mm wide, 80mm front to back and 120mm high. Some scratching generally to the tin and the top is a little rusty. When I have had these tins before the lids always seem to be a bit rusty so perhaps it was a manufacturing issue.
Overall a fairly splendid commemorative tin that will appeal to the tin collector as well as someone who collects Co-op or Barnsley memorabilia.
Please note. I do my best to accurately photograph and describe the condition of the items for sale, including any minor defects but all pieces are vintage and have had previous lives and so may have minor flaws.
