A copy of an anthology of poetry published for the Festival of Britain. It was published by Arthur H Stockwell of Ilfracombe, Devon. There is no mention of an editor or compiler and so I presume the publisher selected the works to be included.
There are 86 pages of poems by a variety poets. I do not read much poetry and so none of the names of the poets are familiar to me. Many poems are actually about the Festival but many are about Britain in general at the time.
The book is 185 x 125mm with cloth faced hard covers with the title on the spine only.
There is an inscription on the first page written when the book was new and shows that it was sent by a mother to her daughter.
There is some wear to the spine and bumping of corners. Inner pages all tightly bound and overall the book is in good condition.
