A set of 10 stamps to commemorate the Festival in their official album. This the blue set, it was issued in several colours.
Known as 'Cinderella stamps' they were issued to raise funds for the Greater London Relief Fund for the Blind.
There are 10 3d stamps and the album was sold for 2/6d. The stamps feature the principal buildings etc of the Festival together with the Crystal Palace from the Great Exhibition of 1851
The album is 200 x 145mm and has 4 pages. The first inner page gives details of the festival whilst last page, not shown in the pictures, gives details of the Fund for the Blind and the work that it did for blind people at the time.
There is some wear to the spine and bumping of corners together with foxing to the off-white pages. All stamps are stuck into the album.
Please note. I do my best to accurately photograph and describe the condition of the items for sale, including any minor defects, but all pieces are vintage and have had previous lives and so may have minor flaws.
