This metal sign was produced by Radiation Ltd to give guidance on cooking times for their New World 'Regulo-Controlled' gas cooker.
It is double sided and one side shows the cooking times and Regulo mark for a variety of common dishes. The list includes meats, cakes, pastry, Yorkshire Pudding, stews and milk puddings. The other side gives some additional guidance notes as well as special instructions for bread baking.
When this guide was produced it was probably the first time that a housewife had been able to use an easily controllable oven.
It is 230 x 175mm in size and is painted metal.
Fairly well used there is some rusting and wear but it probably hung in a steamy kitchen for many years. The wording is still fully legible.
