8 rubber buttons made by the Harborough Rubber Company in their original box.
They are marked with the Dainite name which was the brand name for buttons made by The Harborough Rubber Company.
Made of a hard rubber compound according to the box they are "firm, tough, unbreakable".
Size 15mm, the box describes them as size 22.
They would originally have been intended for use on underwear and would have been used on the Liberty Bodices made by R & W H Symington. Symington's factory was only a very short distance from the Harborough Rubber Company's factory in Market Harborough.
These buttons would have been made over a period of many years and so I would put them as 1920's or 30's as that would have been about the middle of their manufacture.
The buttons and the box are 'as new' and must have been stored away for decades.
