A real photo postcard of "New Waterloo Bridge", London. A very quiet scene with little traffic, so a lot different from today. The view appears to be from what is now the Queen Elizabeth Hall.
Some of the buildings in the background are still there today, Somerset House and 1 Lancaster Place but most of the others fronting the river have been demolished and replaced with new buildings.
The card is undated and unposted but as the bridge was largely built in 1942 and fully opened in 1945 the card must date from shortly after that.
It was published by C Richter, London, NW6.
The card is in good condition.
