A copy of the "Official Guide to Llandudno" published by the Llandudno Town Improvement Association. On the front cover the town is described as "The Naples of the North".
The guide is undated, as was often the case so that they could be used for more than 1 year, but one of the hotel adverts refers to "moderate 1932 terms" and so I assume that was the publication date.
Comprising 168 pages the guide gives details of the town of Llandudno and the surrounding areas of North Wales and was intended for holidaymakers visiting the area. There are details of the town, its history and the facilities available for tourists. A plan of the town and another of the wider area of North Wales are included, together with photographs in colour and black & white.
At the back of there are 100 pages of adverts mostly for the local hotels and boarding houses but also for other local businesses. Many of the hotel adverts do include beautiful illustrations of the establishments
The guide was obviously published at a time when Llandudno was a thriving holiday destination and was aimed ot bringing all the best people to the town. The overall 'Art Deco' feel of the guide must have created a very good impression for potential visitors.
The guide is 180 x 135mm with thin card covers. It has been used and so there is some creasing to the covers and rounding page corners, it is also a little grubby. Nevertheless it is still an excellent guide to what is still a beautiful resort.
