Football Caricatures by Mac. Caricatures of famous footballers
These cards show caricatures famous footballers by the cartoonist Mac. They were issued in 1927 with John Players Cigarettes.
It uses the title football in its widest sense as the players shown are from Association Football and from Rugby Union and Rugby League teams. There are 37 Association Football players shown and 13 Rugby players.
They are a set of 50, each card has a caricature of a player in action on the front and a brief description of their career to date on the back.
The set features players from a variety of clubs as well as internationals for England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland.
The cards are approx 6.5 x 3.5cm.
