This is a lovely guide book for Ilfracombe "On Devon's Glorious Ocean Coast". It is an "Official Guide" published by the Ilfracombe Joint Advertising Committee.
It is undated but a reference is made to Carnival Week, 1955 on the map and so I assume that was the year it was published.
The guide gives a brief overview of the town and its benefits as a holiday destination and includes many pages of sepia photos of the town and surrounding areas.
In addition the book contains numerous pages of adverts for hotels in the town, many of them including photographs of the hotels. These give a very good picture of the town when it was a major tourist destination.
The guidebook also includes a loose map of the town showing the location of the main sights and buildings. On the back of the map are adverts for lots of local businesses.
There are 112 pages plus thin card covers. Size 215 x 140mm. There is some rounding of the corners and a little wear on the spine but overall it is still in good condition.
Please note. I do my best to accurately photograph and describe the condition of the items for sale, including any minor defects but all pieces are vintage and have had previous lives and so may have minor flaws.
Postage is for UK only, please enquire for overseas postage.
