These cards showing the development of Firefighting Appliances were issued with John Players Cigarettes in 1930.
They are a set of 50, each card has an illustration on the front and a brief description on the back. The set shows the very early fire engines that were pulled by hand and how they developed into the appliances that were the state of the art in 1930.
The cards also show specialist fire fighting equipment of the time such as fire resistant suits and smoke helmets.
Each card is approximately 6.5 x 3.5cm in size.
Some wear commensurate with age but overall the set is in good condition.
Please note. I do my best to accurately photograph and describe the condition of the items for sale, including any minor defects, but all pieces are vintage and have had previous lives and so may have minor flaws.
