Lovely Lyme Regis, The Gateway to the West.
This is a good guide book for the Dorset seaside resort. It is an "Official Guide" published by the Borough Advertising Committee.
It is undated but it is pre decimal and later than 1957, I would put it at early 60's.
The guide gives a brief overview of the town, its history and facilities and includes photographs. The bulk of the booklet is made up of adverts for the town's hotels, boarding houses and caravan parks as well as those in Uplyme and Charmouth. It is all very evocative of the period.
The guidebook also includes a loose map of the town showing the location of the main sights, buildings and facilities.
There are 76 pages plus thin card covers. Size 245 x 155mm. There is some rounding of the corners and a little wear on the spine but overall it is still in good condition.
A previous owner has highlighted the Town Museum with biro asterisks.
Please note. I do my best to accurately photograph and describe the condition of the items for sale, including any minor defects but all pieces are vintage and have had previous lives and so may have minor flaws.
