A monochrome postcard of the Corn Market in Penrith. Most of the buildings still look the same but they are all different businesses and the general streetscene has changed a lot.
Busy scene with what looks like a display of agricultural implements in the foreground. It's a pity that the lovely old telephone box has gone.
The card was published by Valentine & Sons Ltd and has their reference of 221405 on the front.
It is unposted and undated but looking at the cars I would think it dates from the late 1930's. The postage is marked as 1d.
Please note. I do my best to accurately photograph and describe the condition of the items for sale, including any minor defects but all pieces are vintage and have had previous lives and so may have minor flaws.
Postage is for UK only, please enquire for overseas postage.
