Six cheques issued by Midland Bank Ltd and used by the Hinckley Rural District Council in 1924. The cheques are headed as being issued by Thomas Augustus King, Esq., Treasurer.
The cheques are payable to a variety of people and companies, presumably suppliers to the Council.
They are 190 x 190mm in size and are endorsed on the back by the payee. They are also overstamped as having been paid. There is some marking and creasing around the edges and they have been pierced in one corner from when they were clipped together with other cheques.
These are interesting items of banking ephemera, nearly 100 years old, from a bank that no longer exists. deal for including in scrapbooks, decoupage or other projects.
I will send a random selection of five used cheques.
Please note. I do my best to accurately photograph and describe the condition of the items for sale, including any minor defects, but all pieces are vintage and have had previous lives and so may have minor flaws.
