This is an unused box of 'razor towels'. Presumably a gentleman would have a pack of these alongside the wash basin when he was shaving.
The lid has the wording "Hostess gift pack" on the lid so I assume this was meant to be given to guests when they visited for the weekend.
There is no branding on the box but it is marked as Made in Britain.
There is no date but looking at the illustration on the towels I would estimate that they are from the 1930's or 40's.
The box overall is 185 x 145mm and 45mm deep. There are 2 bundles of paper towels within a single cellophane wrapper.
The box is a little grubby and there is some tarnishing to the gilt on the label but the paper towels themselves are still in excellent condition.
