This set of cards, titled Howlers, were issued with Churchmans Cigarettes in 1937. They are a set of 40 original cards.
The set features what appears to be schoolchildren's incorrect answers to exam questions.
Each card has a cartoon illustration by Rene Bull of the subject on the front and on the back a series of funny incorrect statements about that subject.
This type of thing is still very popular today and so it shows that our sense of humour has not changed.
Rene Bull's illustrations make this a very attractive set.
The cards are approx 6.5 x 3.5cm.
Please note. I do my best to accurately photograph and describe the condition of the items for sale, including any minor defects but all pieces are vintage and have had previous lives and so may have minor flaws.
