A monochrome postcard of High Street in Rottingdean, Sussex. View near the junction with Whipping Post Lane.
Quiet scene with no traffic, quite a bit busier today, although the buildings are largely the same.
The postcard was published by the Pictorial Stationery Co Ltd in their Pictorchrom series. There is a rubber stamp for Heffner of Kings Road, Brighton, who I assume was the original retailer.
It is postmarked 1907 and was sent from Brighton to an address in Crystal Street, Hull.
The card is a bit grubby with some rounding of corners but it is still a good picture of Rottingdean as it was in the Edwardian era.
Please note. I do my best to accurately photograph and describe the condition of the items for sale, including any minor defects but all pieces are vintage and have had previous lives and so may have minor flaws.
Postage is for UK only, please enquire for overseas postage.
