This vintage 1940's Lucite cake stand will make a real impact on your tea table.
2 tiers, the octagonal plates are a lovely pale blue Lucite (or perspex depending on your preferred trade name) with a picture of an old thatched cottage painted in gold on both tiers. The edges of the plates have an indented shape.
The top tier is supported on a chromed rod with an art deco style chrome handle above.
The larger plate is 26cm across and the smaller 22cm. The distance between the 2 tiers is 11.5cm and the overall height 23.5cm.
There is nothing to give a date but from the design, material and colour I would think it is from the 1940's. The design is very evocative of the period.
It is in very good condition and it looks like it has hardly been used. Very slight discolouration at the edges, but only what would be expected for something of this age.
Very unusual design, this will certainly stand out at your vintage afternoon teas.
