Original leaflet and promotional items for the Farringford Hotel, Freshwater, Isle of Wight.
As Farringford House the building has an interesting history having been the home of Alfred, Lord Tennyson and was in the ownership of the Tennyson family until 1945.
The documents comprise a double sided promotional flier for the hotel, a letter on the hotel headed paper, a tariff sheet, a typical menu and a booking enquiry form. The promotional flier is 210 x 135mm and has 2 photos of the hotel. All the items have been folded.
It is difficult to date these items as none of them give an actual date but looking at the cars in the photo on the flier I would think they are from the 1950's or early 60's, but the letter has the look of the 1960's or 70's. The letter lists the proprieters as Messrs Clark, Collier and Gissing and so that may help to date it.
Please note. I do my best to accurately photograph and describe the condition of the items for sale, including any minor defects but all pieces are vintage and have had previous lives and so may have minor flaws.
