Two original posters regarding a Rural District Council election in Aston Flamville near Hinckley in 1909.
The first poster states that as there is only 1 candidate there is not going to be an election and the second announces the election of that single candidate. The candidate and then Councillor was Colonel William Lamb Barr a retired army officer. The returning Officer was John W Preston who succeeded his father Samuel Preston in the role.
The first poster is 450 x 290mm and the second is 335 x 205mm. Both are in good condition and they appear never to have been used as there is no sign of them being pinned up. They have been folded and so may have been spare copies that were never needed. They will be posted folded.
Very interesting items for collectors of Leicestershire, Hinckley or Aston Flamville ephemera.
