This is a large quantity of billheads from H A Lines, (Rugby). Ltd., they are dated between 1910 and 1915.
The company were "Fancy and General Drapers and Linen Merchants" with a shop at 36 & 37 High Street Rugby. They also carried out "High-Class Dressmaking and Millinery". From what I can find out they went into liquidation in 1918.
There are 4 different designs. The majority (30) are approx 210 x 130mm. There is 1 (an invoice) sized 205 x 165mm, 3 sized 260 x 210mm and 2 of a very simple design sized 255 x 200mm. Two of the designs appear to have been used simultaneously.
The letters were sent to Hearn & Hearn solicitors of Buckingham and appear to relate to the estate of a deceased person from Leighton Buzzard whose name is illegible. Possibly Mr or Mrs Bearge. See top of 3rd photograph.
All of the letters have been folded and some are a little grubby and creased at the corners but all are fully intact and legible.
Please note. I do my best to accurately photograph and describe the condition of the items for sale, including any minor defects, but all pieces are vintage and have had previous lives and so may have minor flaws.
