These are 14 billheads from Mark Webb & Co Ltd of Horsemarket, Northampton. They date from 1916 to 1919. There are also 2 credit notes included.

The company were "Wholesale factors & importers of foreign merchandise" and also sold goods from "London, Birmingham, Sheffield & Staffordshire". The goods sold included china, glass and hardware. Looking at the items included on the bills they sold a wide range of household goods. According to some billheads they were sometimes out of stock of items including clothes baskets and irons, perhaps this was because of the war.

All bills are addressed to Messrs Odell & Co Ltd of High Street, Stony Stratford who presumably were retail sellers.

They are 210 x 190mm in size and perforated along one edge. There is some creasing etc around the edges and many are a bit grubby but overall they are in good condition.

Interesting pieces of Northampton ephemera which give a good idea of what was being sold during WW1.

Please note. I do my best to accurately photograph and describe the condition of the items for sale, including any minor defects, but all pieces are vintage and have had previous lives and so may have minor flaws.

Postage is for UK only, please enquire for overseas postage.
