These are 3 programme cards for Kettering Adult School from 1935 to 1937. The earliest is described as Men's Adult School but then it became the "Old" Adult School from 1936. I wonder if there was a Women's Adult School? According to the 1935 programme the school was founded in 1903.
The first programme is for 1935 when the Meetings were held at the Fuller Lecture Hall but then in 1936 & 37 they were held at Kettering's Friends' Meeting House in Northall. The programmes list the various lectures that would be held, including such topics as 'Workers control in industry' and 'Training for freedom'.
They vary slightly in size but are around 100 x 60mm when folded and are on a medium weight card. Although they are a bit grubby and there is underlining on one programme overall they are in pretty good condition.
Interesting pieces of Kettering ephemera which also throw some light on the education of workers between the two World Wars.
