A sepia postcard of Orford Castle in, Suffolk. A view card shows the castle set on the mound, the view has not changed very much since the card was published.
The rear of the card states that it was published by T W Frost, Post Office, Orford, Suffolk but on the front it says Frith's and has the reference number 88243. Presumably the publisher used a photograph from Frith's as the basis of the card.
It was posted in 1944 in Woodbridge to an address in Leicester and is from a son to his mother. The son was probably based at the nearby military facility at Orford Ness.
Some rounding of the corners and the stamp has been removed but the picture and the writing on the rear of the card are not affected.
