This postcard shows a view of the Market Square in Leicester. It is interesting that it is titled Market Square as today most people seem to refer to it as the Market Place.
The view is of the days when the stalls were removed as the market was not in progress and so it is just one large open area.
In the background you can see Adderleys, later to become Marshall & Snelgrove. Also Parson & Brown and Crane Confectioners. There is no message on the back and the card has not been posted.
Nice coloured card. No publisher named but there are the initials GD&DL in a star motif. It says "Printed in Bavaria".
It is undated but it is likely to be before WW1.
Good condition, some rounding at corners.
Please note. I do my best to accurately photograph and describe the condition of the items for sale, including any minor defects, but all pieces are vintage and have had previous lives and so may have minor flaws.
