An old postcard of St Martin's Collegiate Church. The view looks to be from the old Alderman Newton Boys' School playground across St Martin's Lane West. It looks quite barren in the photo compared with how it looks today.
The card has no publisher details and is undated but as St Martin's became a collegiate church in 1922 and a Cathedral in 1927 it must be from between those 2 dates.
The card may have been issued by the Church to commemorate the elevation to a Collegiate church.
At the time of the card King Richard III's were still under the nearby car park.
The postcard is in good condition.
