These cards showing portraits of the heads of a wide variety of breeds of dog were issued with John Players Cigarettes in 1929.
They are a complete set of 50 original cards. Each card has a portrait of the breed on the front and a brief description on the back. The set features the popular breeds of dog of the day.
It is interesting to read the descriptions and see how the various breeds were developed and how the breed standards have changed.
The cards are approx 6.5 x 3.5cm.
Some wear commensurate with age but overall the set is in good condition.
