These cards showing pictures of a wide variety of breeds of dog were issued with John Players Cigarettes in 1925.
Several sets were issued and this is the set with the dogs shown against a scenic background.
They are a set of 50, each card has an illustration of the breed on the front and a brief description on the back. The set features the popular breeds of dog of the day.
It is interesting to read the descriptions and see how the various breeds were developed and how the breed standards have changed.
The cards are approx 6.5 x 3.5cm.
