This set of cards, titled Kings of Speed, was issued with Churchmans Cigarettes in 1939. It is a set of 50 cards.
The set features a wide range of sports, both motorised and man-powered and shows the champions in each event.
The sports include motor racing, motor cycle racing, speedway, flying, cycling, rowing, speedboats and speed skating. Each card has a photograph of the sportsman on the front and on the back a brief description of the career of the subject.
The set does give a good overview of a wide range of sports of the time.
The cards are approx 6.5 x 3.5cm.
