Postcard of The Boating Lake in Leamington Spa.
A very tranquil scene of three elegantly dressed ladies in a boat on the lake, almost Jerome K Jerome!
The back of the card is very interesting as it has an advert for subscriptions for Jephson Gardens. At the time apparently it cost 1d for admission to the gardens but for 12s 6d (62.5p) a whole family could have free admission for a year. And they say that paying to use public services is a new thing!
Good mono-chrome card, published by W.H.S.L., which I take to be W H Smith. Unposted and undated but from the look of the picture it dates from the Edwardian era.
Very slight rounding of corners and slight marking where it has been in an album but still in good condition.
