This is an advertising card for the Denbigh Boarding Establishment at Grand Parade, Brighton.
It was obviously issued by the owners (Mr & Mrs Hughes) to advertise the facilites of the establishment, which included, a comfortable Drawing Room, Smoking Room, Lounge and Billiard Room. The guests also had the benefit of electric light throughout and bath rooms.
The card gives details of the prices charged and also the timings for breakfast, lunch afternoon tea and dinner. It obvously catered for people who worked in London as an early breakfast could be provided for Gentlemen going to town.
There is no date on the card but it does refer to the New Palace Pier, this opened in 1899 and so I would imagine that this card was issued shortly after.
Size 125 x 80mm on thin card. There are 4 sides, all are shown in the photos.
There is some wear to the 'spine' but otherwise it is in good condition.
Overall a very nice item of Brighton ephemera.
