An old postcard of the Turret Gateway in Castle View, Leicester. This is also known as Prince Rupert Gateway.
The gateway itself looks much the same today but the view beyond it has changed, most notably because the spire of St Mary de Castro has been removed.
The card was published as part of the Wrench Series and has the reference number 2875. It is marked as being printed in Saxony, as many cards were at that time.
It was posted in 1903 to by 'Helen'. There is a rather enigmatic message on the card, either Pip-Pip or Tip-Pip, I am sure the recipient knew what it meant.
It is in good condition.
